We trek back to our car that morning [addendum]: Starting today, we would spend 2 days in New Orleans proper before hitting the beach. We would see many interesting things; D-Day Museum, New Orleans' St. Patricks Day celebrations, their renowned aquarium, an armed burglery that deteriorated into a gunfight, some fine local restaurants, and - of course - some superb jazz! And we would only almost get in trouble with cops once the whole time! So patience, there are still plenty of good stories coming up!
